The history of the farmhouse dates back to the Chauvet-Gontier marriage in 1893, the first owners of the plot of land of just 26.51 ares on which the first buildings were constructed. The purchase was part of the municipality’s efforts to sell plots of land and the development of market gardening since 1854.
In 1925, the Mouret-Baux couple built and improved Mas Neuf. In 1933, the Mas returned to the Chauvet-Gontier family, who had 8 children. Emile Chauvet then owned the Mas until 1972, when he sold it to a couple of well-known dentists from Châteaurenard, who improved the house and built a swimming pool.
The Mas remained in their hands until 2008, when it was sold for a short period before reverting to the current owner in 2011, who has renovated it with respect, restoring the old tiles where possible. Another adjacent plot was acquired and the swimming pool was renovated.
